Karen Brabant is a lecturer and project coordinator at the college-university Odisee and holds a Master's degree in Labour & Organizational Psychology, a Master's degree in Management, and a teachers degree in Psychology. As a lecturer she teaches statistics and research skills. Over the years she has gained experience in executing local and European projects related to entrepreneurship and/or sustainability, with a focus on the interplay between the educational system and business. For several European projects, she developed and implemented circuits of company visits on the topic of sustainability and sustainable entrepreneurship. Karen is involved in in the start-up of the brand new Center for Sustainability Odisee, initiated by the study field Business Management Odisee. As project coordinator, she was able to acquire expertise in projects linked to sustainability. An example is the Hecos for Ethics project, focused on the development of new training modalities on sustainable themes. This resulted in the Summer School Sustainable Management, which has been offered in Odisee since 2016. The evaluation tool developed to measure sustainable competences was recently explained by Karen at the World Symposium on Sustainability Science and Research: Implementing the 2030 United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development, in Manchester. In 2016, Karen additionally completed successfully the information cycle organized by the Belgian Development Agency, which deals with global social issues from a sustainable perspective.
